Do you often feel tired throughout the day? Are you looking for something that can give you a boost?
What’s a good supplement for energy? Is there something out there that can increase your physical and mental energy level at the same time?
In this NeuroActiv6 review, I’ll be evaluating whether or not this product can fit the bill.
There are a lot of nootropic supplements out there competing for your hard earned dollars. The vast majority are a waste of your time.
So without further ado, let’s dig in!
What is NeuroActiv6?
NeuroActiv6 is a drink powder designed to be convenient to use, and provide health benefits for body and mind.
It contains ingredients that protect you from free radical damage, improve vitality, and enhance mental clarity.
A short list of individuals that can benefit from NeuroActiv6 is as follows:
- Tired Moms
- Working Professionals
It also goes without saying that anybody experiencing ‘Brain Fog’ in the morning, or needing more energy throughout the day can also benefit from NeuroActiv6.
The interesting thing I find about NaturalCell, the company that makes NeuroActiv6, is that they have honed in on Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor(BDNF) as the main contributing factor to improving neurological health.
Why is Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor(BDNF) Important?
I have spoken about BDNF in several of my other articles, and I do think it’s important to brain health.
However, I don’t think that BDNF alone is the only concern to take into account when elevating human intelligence.
Yes, BDNF encourages the growth of new brain cells and improves receptor site activity, but there are other considerations at play.
That being said, boosting levels of BDNF in the brain does provide a lot of benefits. This is a short list:
- Better Memory
- Enhanced focus
- Improved Learning
- Faster Reaction Times
The makers of NeuroActiv6 also state that Whole Coffee Fruit Extract is the main ingredient that provides BDNF to the brain in their formulation.
They compare it to a fertilizer for plant growth, only it’s meant to encourage new brain cell growth.
Brain Inflammation – Not your Friend
The folks at NaturalCell have also found that brain inflammation is a major contributor to mental decline as we age.
They go further to say that exercising regularly will raise your BDNF levels naturally, and that studies have shown brain inflammation is reduced when BDNF levels rise.
In other words, they have found that a rise in BDNF levels correlates to a reduction in brain inflammation, supporting their findings that BDNF levels are the key to improving mental performance.
The fact that NeuroActiv6 is a natural food product also lends itself well to providing compounds that provide users with protection from a number of chronic ailments.
NeuroActiv6 Acts as an Antioxidant – Red Fruit Polyphenols
Polyphenols are ‘super-food compounds’ usually found in plants, and they have an incredible number of benefits. Polyphenols encourage ‘Hormesis’; they put a mild stress on the body that encourages it to adapt, kind of like exercise.
A brief list of ways Polyphenols improve human health are as follows:
- Antioxidant properties
- Enhance Cognitive Function
- Regulate Blood Sugar
- Aid in Digestion
- Prevent Heart Disease, Blood Clots, and Cancer
Polyphenols are commonly found in very high concentrations in fruits, vegetables, nuts, chocolate, coffee, and tea, so the folks at NaturalCell have gone ahead and packed NeuroActiv6 with as many organic sources of Polyphenols as they can stuff into it.
There are a number of ingredients on the label, but the 2 major sources of Polyphenols in NeuroActiv6 are coffee fruit and red fruit extracts, which gives it a bright red color.
Technically, Polyphenols are not nootropics, but they have been shown to improve cognitive function by protecting the brain from free radical damage.
NeuroActiv6 Provides Stress Protection
NeuroActiv6 also has Ashwagandha in its’ formulation to regulate stress hormones like Cortisol.
Ashwagandha relaxes users without causing drowsiness, and improves neuroplasticity by allowing brain tissues to heal. It also stops the enzyme that breaks down Acetylcholine from working, thereby improving brain function.
NeuroActiv6 has Choline for Cognition
NeuroActiv6 does have one artificially produced nootropic included in its’ ingredient list, and it is CDP Choline. It’s a good choice, because CDP choline provides 2 nutrients to the brain once it crosses the blood-brain barrier.CDP Choline provides Choline, which is a precursor to the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine.
It also provides Cytidine, which is then converted to Uridine, which the brain can use to rebuild receptor sites.
There is also some synergistic benefit to having CDP Choline and Ashwaganda together in this formulation, since Ashwaganda acts as a reuptake inhibitor for Acetylcholine.
What else should we know about the ingredients in NeuroActiv6?
The other ingredients in NeuroActiv6 worthy of mention are Turmeric, the B Vitamins, and Grape Seed Extract.
Turmeric has been shown to increase levels of BDNF as well as encourage increased production of Dopamine and Seratonin in the brain. It is also a very effective antioxidant, offering protection from free radicals, thereby reducing inflammation of brain tissue.
B Vitamins act as catalysts in several key reactions necessary for glucose metabolism in the body. B Vitamins also facilitate the repair of nerve tissues throughout the body. B12 in particular assists in the regrowth of myelin.
Grape Seed Extract is also included in NeuroActiv6 for its’ high concentration of Polyphenols.
The quality of the ingredients in NeuroActiv6 is extremely high. NaturalCell complies with the Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) required by the FDA.
They have random testing of ingredient batches during production, lab testing for efficacy, and another final check by a neutral 3rd party before packaging their products.
OK. It’s a high quality product. But does it qualify as a nootropic supplement? Does it meet the stringent standards of ‘The Nootropics Coach’?
NeuroActiv6 – Nootropic Supplement or just another Drink Mix?
Sure it does. If you will recall from my previous blog post, “What is a Nootropic Compound?”, the simplest definition of a nootropic is a compound that improves mental capacity with virtually no side effects.
NeuroActiv6 may have less individual nootropics in its’ list of ingredients, but it’s still a stack of nootropics put together with the intention of enhancing peoples’ cognitive performance.
It has a different delivery method, and it emphasizes BDNF over all other considerations for improving intelligence, but it’s still a nootropic supplement.
I don’t agree with the idea that BDNF levels are the lynch pin factor to brain health, but I respect the fact that NeuroActiv6 is a very high quality product.
I have tried it, and I found my energy levels did jump up. I felt more lucid, and ready for just about anything.
NeuroActiv6 Review – Final Analysis
I think NeuroActiv6 is a really good product. I tried it and I liked it. It tastes good, and it was effective.
That being said, I have to say that for myself, I am going to be sticking with Mind Lab Pro for my ADD.
It’s got more constituents in it, and they are very well suited to treating symptoms of ADHD & ADD. I can’t do any better.
So what’s a good supplement for energy? NeuroActiv6 is definitely a good option!
Now that I’ve done this NeuroActiv6 review, do you think I might have a shot of it every now and again if I think I need a boost?
Of course I will! Why not?
It’s another tool in my arsenal to keeping on track with my ADD.
I wouldn’t let the fact that NeuroActiv6 has less nootropic compounds in it diminish your opinion of the product.
I will say, however, that I think it is better used by individuals that specifically want a product that will improve their overall health, energy level, and mental capacities all at the same time.
Long story short, I think NeuroActiv6 was formulated with these individuals in mind:
- Tired Moms
- Working Professionals
The convenience factor with this product is pretty high, and I think it’s good to keep that in mind.
I just wouldn’t expect it to perform at quite the same level as Mind Lab Pro or Awaken Gold in order to enhance cognitive abilities.
Those stacks have a different focus; they are specifically meant to only enhance cognitive performance.
They have a specific place in the nootropics market, and so does NeuroActiv6.
I would give NeuroActiv6 a 4 star rating out of 5.
It’s good. The only caveat I have to put forward is that anyone wanting to try it should ask themselves honestly if it’s a nootropic supplement that meets their needs.
Thanks for reading, and if you have any questions or comments, please post them below.
And if you do try NeuroActiv6, let me know what you thought of it! I’d really love to hear from you!
In my next article, I will be writing about caffeine as a nootropic, and how to maximize its’ benefits.
Until next time,
